A TRUE SYMBOL

of the American South

line
Occasionally, critics question our use of the Confederate flag in our logo. Some see it as a symbol of racism and slavery. In this article, we explain the real meaning of this flag, which is not a Confederate flag and whose symbols do not represent anything negative.

What comes to mind when you see the flag above? What message do you think it conveys?

Racism? Slavery? Hatred? White supremacy?

Or maybe something worse?

Now, what do you see when you look at this flag? What's actually on this flag?

Colors like red, white, blue? Thirteen stars?

Is that all, or is there something more?

Take a closer look and spend time really thinking about what you see. Examine every detail, as the design was intended to convey a specific message.

For the record... neither its appearance nor content has anything to do with racism, slavery, hatred, or white supremacy… or anything worse!

The entire COLOR scheme can be removed, leaving only the outline and message, which can be interpreted by anyone with a basic knowledge of history.

First, this flag is NOT the "Confederate Flag." It is the "Battle Flag of Northern Virginia." However, this design is commonly associated with the term and has appeared on various flags flown by Confederate states. It is also most misunderstood by those who have no knowledge of what it actually symbolizes.

Now look at the flag again and answer this simple question: Do you see a large letter "X" anywhere? If I turn this X on its side, do you see it now? The X is formed by large blue stripes bordered by white.

Take another look at the flag. There are thirteen white stars on this large "X." Do you know what they represent? They represent the original thirteen colonies that formed the United States, each with its own governance until the beginning of the "Northern Aggression," when Northern states tried to take control over the Southern states, which led to the Civil War.

Note: The stars seem to lie on the blue X, but in reality, the X lies on the stars, allowing them to shine through.

Let me ask you a simple question: Remember in elementary school when teachers asked you to circle or put an "X" on the items that didn't belong? That’s how this flag is designed, with stars in an X formation to signify that the Southern states wanted to leave the Union. Simply put, the flag’s message is… REMOVE US from your Union! The Southern states seceded, which led to the Civil War.

And that is the only message conveyed by this flag!

That’s all there is to it!

It’s that simple!

If this flag truly symbolized slavery, hatred, white supremacy, or anything worse, as believed by many, its design would reflect that.

But that’s NOT what this flag represents!

And NOT the message it sends!

This flag is NOT racist! It NEVER was! It NEVER will be!

As stated before, those who understand history and have common sense can see the truth behind this symbol.

For the record… THIS is the real Confederate flag:

Neither suggests racism, slavery, hatred, or white supremacy!
